Chemistry (Year-Long)

Friday, 11/19
Period 8 will review for the Unit 2 test on Monday, and Period 4 will take the test! You're going to do great!

Thursday, 11/18

Today, 8th period makes Bohr Models and 4th period will play "Review Golf" to prepare for the Unit 2 test tomorrow.

Wednesday, 11/17
8th period took the quiz today and 4th period made some lovely Bohr Models of the atom.

Tuesday, 11/16

Today was quiz day for some of you and laptop activity day for the rest. 8th period make sure you study for Wednesday!

Monday, 11/15
We're wrapping up our section on light and electrons. 4th period will take the quiz tomorrow, and 8th period will take the quiz on Wednesday.

Friday, 11/12
Today we're going to explore exactly how electrons create light using this simulator!

Wednesday, 11/10
We are going to continue our discussion of light, clearing up some common misconceptions and questions.

Tuesday, 11/9
We talked about light yesterday, and today we're watching 2 short movies about it! Tomorrow, we'll do a laptop activity - get pumped!

Monday, 11/8
We are continuing our lessons on filling and writing electron configurations. After that we're going to move on to light!

Friday, 10/29
We took benchmarks today. It took a while, so not all the presentations happened. Monday we'll wrap up the history of the atom project.

Thursday, 10/28
We finished up our posters for the "history of the atom" project. They look good and I'm excited for presentations tomorrow!

Wednesday, 10/27
Today we started a "history of the atom" project. We divided into groups and each group had one model to explain. Today we worked on the presentation posters.
Homework for tomorrow: Research additional correct or incorrect pieces of information about your atomic model. (1 point extra credit for each extra piece of info.)

Tuesday, 10/26
Today we talked about the structure of atoms and subatomic particles (protons, neutrons, and electrons.)
I gave back the Unit 1 tests.

Monday, 10/25
Sub work:
In the CHEMISTRY book...
Read pages 79-87.  Answer questions 2, 5, 12, and 18 on page 107.
